Liberals lash out at Van Jones for saying Biden is losing black voters because he didn't fulfill his promises and made their lives worse

CNN political commentator Van Jones said that Biden and the Democrats are losing support among black voters because they overpromised, underdelivered, and inflation had made their lives worse.

Jones made the comments on CNN Friday with John Berman.

"I think that there's a disappointment factor that's set in, I think a lot of black voters feel like the black community gave the most during the election, it was a historic election, 2020, and have gotten the least," Jones said.

"If you look at voting rights, so far nothing. Police reform, so far nothing. You look at some of the student loan stuff, very little. So what was motivating African-American voters left, right and otherwise, were that somebody was going to come to our rescue," he continued.

"The day-to-day reality for black folks hasn't improved In fact, because of inflation and other things, [have] gotten worse," Jones concluded, "so you're starting to see that disappointment factor set in."

He went on to point out that conservatives have been able to recast the Republican Party as a "multi-racial working class" party to appeal to some minorities. He also blamed most of the disapproval for Biden on inflation.

"This idea, well look, Trump was here, he's terrible, we're gonna replace him, and we're gonna give you 100% of what you want, with 50% of the votes in the Senate," Jones continued.

"The math never made sense, you can pass big bills through the house, but you can't even sometimes get a hearing in the Senate. And so by the time you get to the summertime, hey, I'm hearing all this stuff is supposed to be happening, but it's never getting signed by the president," he explained.

"When you overpromise so much in the beginning of the year and you're underdelivering at the end of the year, and don't forget Build Back Better, et cetera, you suddenly end up with a disappointment factor plus inflation," Jones concluded.

Some on social media were furious with Van Jones for his criticism of the Democrats.

"Van Jones is a f***ing moron," read one very popular reaction.

"Van Jones is wrong. The MEDIA HAS UNDERREPORTED Joe Biden's accomplishments because they have PTSD from TFG. Get a handle on your business ffs, MSM," said another critic.

"I don’t know what the f*** Van Jones’ jiggin’ and jivin’ ass is even talking about," read another critical tweet. "How the f*** would he know what life is like for us Blacks who ain’t never played pet negro for Trump or billionaire Bezos?"

Others agreed with Jones.

"Van Jones didn't say anything wrong here. The Democrats said what they needed to say to get the votes they needed to win, and refused to fight for any of the things that they promised. The strategy of the Democrats appears to be platitudes now and excuses later," read one popular response.

NBC News found similar apathy among black voters in a rural town who said it didn't appear to matter who was in the White House, Democrats or Republicans.

Liberals lash out at Van Jones for saying Biden has failed to deliver on his campaign promises: 'The honeymoon's over.'

CNN guest commentator Van Jones said President Joe Biden had failed to deliver on his campaign promises and cited the many problems plaguing his administration. Many on the left lashed out at him on social media for his comments.

Jones issued his dire assessment of Biden's performance Tuesday as a guest on Chris Cuomo's CNN show.

"Right now the honeymoon's over," Jones said.

"There as a moment where it was like, 'goodbye Trump, hello vaccines, we're so glad to see you Joe Biden!' That's kind of how this year started," he continued. "And then he actually got stuff done. Don't forget you got 200 million Americans vaccinated right now."

Van Jones lauded Biden for funneling a trillion dollars of government spending into the economy and also for going after the Trump supporters who rioted at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

"He's doing a lot of good stuff," Jones said.

"The problem is that he put himself in a position where he made big, bold claims about the rest of the agenda. You think this great stuff that we did is good, it's nothing! Wait until this summer when you're gonna get all this other stuff!" he continued.

"And then he steps on a rake, he slips on a banana peel, then he falls down the stairs with some marbles, and now people are looking at him in a negative light," Jones added.

He went on to say that if gas prices go down and if the coronavirus cases go down that Biden's poll numbers might improve.

"Right now the Democratic Party is looking over the edge of a cliff," Jones said, "and there is a lot of fear and concern, and you're not seeing that strong Joe Biden that I think people were expecting to get stuff done, to get the next round of stuff done."

He also said that Biden's successes were being stalled by in-fighting in the Democratic Party over two proposed massive budgeting bills.

Many viewers were outraged that Jones would criticize Biden on CNN.

"Van Jones cares about Van Jones' paycheck," read a tweet.

"Van Jones is the fakest person on this planet. I truly can't stand him," said artist Tony Posnanski.

"I'm done with CNN. Van Jones will say anything to get airtime. Biden is doing everything he can to save America," said another detractor.

"@VanJones68 what is it that you want to see? Trump another 4 years? Stop BASHING @POTUS ! We elected him, support him and use your platform to help keep our country as a democracy," read another tweet.

Some accused CNN of making a right-wing turn.

"I never liked Van Jones, I didn't trust him. Guess my instincts were right. CNN is leaning right these days & I almost never tune in to watch them anymore. Our country is changing & the media is playing a dangerous game in shaping the downfall of our democracy," tweeted Laurie Kafka, who identified herself as a "resister."

"Van Jones is on the wrong network. FOX is more him.? He and fTucker would get along well. But CNN has been on the down slide for awhile," suggested another critic.

Biden's approval ratings have plummeted to the lowest level since he took up residence at the White House. A new Quinnipiac poll found that only 38% of Americans give him a positive job approval.

Black community lashes out at CNN's Van Jones over Derek Chauvin comments

Members of the black community lashed out at CNN contributor Van Jones for expressing some sympathy for the mother of Derek Chauvin, who was sentenced for the murder of George Floyd on Friday.

"CNN gets on my f***ing nerves pulling Van Jones out every time there is some black s**t going on. Get this n***a off tv," one critic replied.

Jones' immediate reaction was that the 22-and-a-half-years prison sentence for Chauvin was very disappointing.

"What this man did, it should have been the maximum of the maximum. And this is disappointing. I don't think it's gonna cause outrage, but it's a punch in the guy. This guy's life is worth more than 15 years," Jones said.

Most of the ire aimed at Jones was over comments he reportedly made in sympathy for Chauvin's mother, who spoke at the hearing for her son's sentencing.

"Dear @VanJones68 You feel sorry for Derek Chauvin's mother? That wench's son murdered a man in front of the whole world. She didn't even have the decency to apologize for her son. Do you feel sorry for George's daughter? Brothers? or just Chauvin's mom?" one detractor said.

"Van Jones, the last black man in America. According to CNN," Roxane Gay joked.

"They always get Van Jones to talk about black folks s**t. Dat mfer ain't been black since he was a child," another detractor tweeted.

"I'm so sick of saying this. Van Jones doesn't speak for the black community," another critic said.

"She showed no respect to the Floyd's family. Her son is alive, yeah he's gonna due time, like criminals do. But she can see, hear his voice, read his words. Floyd's daughter will never hear her fathers voice, feel his love or hugs, read a card from her father," another Jones critic said.

Chauvin could face additional sentencing on federal charges that he violated the rights of a 14-year-old black teenager in 2017 when he used similar arrest techniques as the ones he used on George Floyd.

CNN's Van Jones attacked by liberals for saying Trump 'has done good stuff for the black community' and 'does not get enough credit'

CNN commentator Van Jones applauded President Donald Trump for the work he has done for the black community. Liberals immediately turned on Jones, lashing out at the progressive pundit for giving Trump even the slightest acknowledgment that the president has attempted to help black Americans.

On Friday night, Jones appeared on CNN with host Jake Tapper. The panel was discussing the final presidential debate, specifically Trump's comment that he's "done more for the black community than any other president."

"Donald Trump — and I get beat up by liberals every time I say this, but I'm gonna keep saying it — he has done good stuff for the black community," Jones said on CNN. "Opportunity zone stuff, black college stuff. I worked with him on criminal justice stuff. I saw Donald Trump have African American people, formerly incarcerated, in the White House — embraced them, treated them well. There's a side to Donald Trump that I think he does not get enough credit for."

Former NFL Hall of Famer and Trump ally Herschel Walker posted the video clip with the caption: "Because @VanJones68 speaks the truth on @realDonaldTrump people get upset. The American people deserve the truth from the MSM!"

Despite Jones being extremely critical of Trump for years on nearly every single subject, leftists were enraged that he gave Trump credit. The praise of Trump was swiftly met with condemnation of Jones, a former Obama White House adviser.

"Jeeesus why is Van Jones still talking about anything? What an embarrassment. @VanJones68," an online commenter wrote.

"Every time I think Van Jones has turned a corner, he disappoints," another Twitter user said.

"Yeah. Stop listening to Van Jones," another person opined.

"Van Jones is a SELL OUT, yeah I said it," one person declared.

"Van Jones is a Trumper. At the end of the day, that's who he is," a commenter alleged.

Besides Jones, 50 Cent was also recently lambasted for showing support for Trump. The rapper's ex-girlfriend, Chelsea Handler, blasted 50 Cent for saying he would vote for Trump because he was terrified of the high taxes he might have to pay if Joe Biden is elected.

"I had to remind him that he was a Black person, so he can't vote for Donald Trump," Handler told late-night TV host Jimmy Fallon. Many considered the comedian's comments to be "racist."

Jones' praise of Trump arrives only days after hip-hop radio host Charlamagne Tha God admitted that the president is making a real effort to court young black male voters.

"When it comes to the black people you see showing support for Trump, I just think, you know, it's because Trump is actually talking to young black male voters. He is directing ads toward them," said Charlamagne Tha God, whose real name is Lenard Larry McKelvey.
