FBI investigating James Comey's alleged off-the-books 'honeypot' operation targeting Trump campaign: Report

The FBI has reportedly launched an investigation into an off-the-books operation predating Crossfire Hurricane that former Director James Comey allegedly ordered with the aim of infiltrating President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign.

According to the Washington Times, the bureau under the leadership of Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino is looking for a pair of once-undercover female employees who were allegedly directed to worm their way into the Trump camp as "honeypots" when traveling with the then-presidential candidate and his campaign team.

An agency whistleblower revealed in a protected disclosure to the House Judiciary Committee last year that shortly after Trump announced his bid for the presidency in June 2015, Comey — an Obama appointee — allegedly deployed two undercover FBI agents to compromise the campaign at senior levels, gaining access and intelligence.

The whistleblower report suggested that the operation was effectively a fishing expedition, as it did not appear to be targeting any specific crime; was intentionally hidden from Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz during his review of possible FBI misconduct; was ultimately abandoned after one of the infiltrators had her cover blown; and served as possible evidence of institutional bias against Trump.

'Dirty cops. Bad people.'

"The case had no predicated foundation, so Comey personally directed the investigation without creating an official case file in Sentinel or any other FBI system," said the whistleblower's disclosure, obtained by the Times. "The FBI has multiple methods of protecting highly sensitive investigations, so Comey did not have a legitimate reason not to officially create an official investigation file or have a file number."

Comey has made no secret of his willingness to draw outside the lines. He bragged in 2018, for instance, about giving directions to agents — with the apparent aim of sabotaging the Trump administration — that he "probably wouldn't have done or maybe gotten away with in a more organized investigation, a more organized administration."

The whistleblower further alleged that one of the two "honeypot" agents was transferred to the CIA to avoid being brought in as a possible witness. The other agent reportedly received a significant promotion and now operates as a high-level bureau executive in a major field office.

'James Comey belongs in prison.'

Former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker previously told the Times that if the whistleblower's allegations are true, "it's an unpredicated infiltration of a presidential campaign, which is sensitive."

The Times said the FBI has declined to comment.

If the former undercover agents are found and ultimately confirm the veracity of the whistleblower's claims, then Trump will once again be vindicated for his sense that the "witch hunt" started "from the day we came down the elevator."

"It was evil. It was corrupt. It was dirty cops. It was leakers and liars. And this should never, ever happen to another president ever," Trump said in early 2020.

"Had I not fired James Comey — who was a disaster, by the way — it's possible I wouldn't even be standing here right now. We caught him in the act. Dirty cops. Bad people."

Steve Friend, a 12-year FBI veteran who blew the whistle about potential violations of citizens' Sixth and Eighth Amendment rights in the bureau's Jan. 6 investigations, said the alleged honeypot scheme "is the stuff of spy novels and communist dictatorships. James Comey belongs in prison."

Roger Stone: Democrats joining Trump DESTROYS Kamala’s momentum, signals a 'new political movement'

There’s no question in Roger Stone’s mind that former President Donald Trump has a chance of winning the 2024 election — regardless of the unprecedented hurdles he’s facing.

“You’ve got intrepid opposition of the mainstream media, the continue to cover for Kamala Harris in terms of who she really is, what her real record is, her responsibility for the policies of the last three plus years that are destroying the country,” the legendary Republican campaign adviser tells Alex Stein of “Prime Time with Alex Stein.”

However, “There’s a new political movement in the country” that he believes is “potentially a complete political realignment.”

“The endorsement of Donald Trump by Robert F. Kennedy [Jr.] is a game changer. When you add Wonder Woman, Tulsi Gabbard, who I think is an extraordinary warrior against the deep state and the war machine, what you have here is potentially like 1932, like 1968,” Stone says, recalling the election of Reagan.

“You have a real new realignment of Republicans, Libertarians, freethinkers, Independents, people who believe in capitalism, people who believe in freedom, people who are concerned about censorship, people who are concerned about war. This is a sea change. These announcements cap any upward momentum that Kamala Harris may have gotten from the convention,” he explains.

Stone adds that he is “very optimistic about the energy surrounding the Trump reform movement” and “the America first movement.”

His major concern lies in election integrity, though he’s hopeful as it’s “being worked on in a very smart and aggressive way.”

“Is Donald Trump as popular as Ronald Reagan was in your personal opinion, Roger?” Stein asks Stone, curious.

“Actually, I think he’s much more popular,” Stone says, telling Stein that Trump is the leader of “the non-elitist party of working people.”

However, Stone has a warning if Trump doesn’t come out on top this election.

“If we don’t win this election, we may not even have an election in four years. Not by our hand, but by theirs,” he says.

WHO’S NEXT? Tulsi Gabbard joins RFK Jr. in endorsing Donald Trump for President

While Democrats were basking in the aftermath of the abortion-studded DNC, Donald Trump was cooking up a plan to steal the spotlight.

And it might have been one of the best moves he’s made yet.

He not only got the endorsement of RFK Jr. but the former independent nominee hinted in an interview that more Democrats would be joining him in supporting Trump’s campaign.

“I think President Trump is going to make a series of announcements about other Democrats who are joining his campaign, and you know I want to make America healthy again and so does President Trump,” RFK Jr. said in the interview.

“If we need to unify to take back the country, that’s what we need to do,” Sara Gonzales of “Sara Gonzales Unfiltered” comments.

One of those former Democrats is Tulsi Gabbard, who endorsed the former president in a speech following RFK’s endorsement.

"I am proud to stand here before you today, whether you're a Democrat, a Republican, or an independent," Gabbard said. "If you love our country as I do, if you cherish peace and freedom as we do, I invite you to join me in doing all that we can to save our country and elect President Donald J. Trump and send him back to the White House to do the tough work of saving our country and serving the people."

BlazeTV contributor Matthew Marsden believes this is shaping up to be a great team.

“I think you’ve seen somebody’s tried to kill him, you’ve seen RFK be screwed over by his own party — not even be given security — he’s going to double down, and I think you’re going to see this across the board with Gabbard,” Marsden says.

The question remains as to who else RFK may have been referencing in regard to Democrats endorsing Trump.

“I don’t know anyone other than Tulsi,” Gonzales comments.

Lewandowski outlines Trump's plan to BYPASS the leftist media to go DIRECTLY to the people

The biased mainstream media is doing everything in its power to boost Kamala Harris and defame Donald Trump with lies. This puts moderate voters in a tough position because when they seek information about Trump and his policies, the majority of sources they’re likely to find are biased and propagandistic.

How are undecided Americans supposed to know which candidate they want to vote for if they can’t find the truth?

Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s 2016 campaign manager, who was just brought back for this election season, joins Jill Savage and the “Blaze News Tonight” panel to outline the Trump campaign’s plan to make sure the people get their information straight from the horse’s mouth.

- YouTubewww.youtube.com

The plan, Lewandowsky explains, is “to allow Donald Trump to go directly to the American people to lay out what his vision is.”

“Look at how the media has treated Donald Trump over the last eight years. You know, in 2015 and 2016, he was this incredible phenomenon who just took the political world by storm, came down that beautiful golden escalator, and was in first place in a month and never looked back. And now, you know, after almost being assassinated, the media barely covers him,” says Lewandowski, adding that “most of the mainstream media won't even take his rallies anymore.”

But there may be a silver lining to the media’s glaring obvious bias, according to Lewandowski.

“Donald Trump has exposed the hostility of the media against conservatives,” he says. “We've seen a two-tier justice system prosecute this man for something that no one else has ever been prosecuted for.”

The American people are beginning to realize that a biased and weaponized media means something dire for us all — “If they can do this to [Trump], they can do it to anybody.”

In addition to going directly to the American people, the Trump campaign must also shift to take on a new opponent — Kamala Harris, who has been not so democratically installed as Biden's replacement.

“Do you have the preparation to shift now for Kamala Harris?” asks Jill.

“Most of the American people don't even know who Kamala Harris is, which gives us an opportunity to define her,” says Lewandowski, pointing to the fact that Harris “is saddled with the failures of the Biden Administration,” including the “10 million illegals [who] have now officially crossed the border into our country.”

“She can’t run from that,” he says.

“She can't run from the record inflation; she can't run from the fact that she wants to fix prices so that she tells private sector businesses what they can and can't charge; she can't run from the fact that most people can't pay their grocery bill or put fuel in their car anymore ... and she can't run from the fact that our enemies no longer fear us around the world and our allies no longer respect us.”

“Kamala Harris owns everything that Joe Biden has failed on.”
